030718 - Arrival of the starter kit
| The kit arrives, here we've just unloaded the chassis and bodywork from the truck.
| Check it out, the tank is already in place!
| The aluminium panelling, pre-cut of course.
| Here are the boxes of stuff and the rear arches set down inside my garage on the floor.
| I can see some goodies in there!
| Uhm...more goodies. Toys for boys.
| Some more nice stuff. I can see some billet alu pieces in there. yummy.
| Here's a front spindle. Nice work. Cast and machined aluminium with induction heat treated steel spindle bolt. I like it already.
| Here's another view. Those straps are there to keep the washers in place so you don't mix up which one goes where.
| A front hub. Looks real nice.
| That's a steel stub shaft for the rear.
| Steering components
| That's my old and used differential with LSD I bought from a scrapyard for 1200kr.
| Just having a look at the chassis and the welds.
| More nice welds.
| Yep, that's me testing the driving position. It's actually long in the footwell. It will come in handy.
| More nice welds.
| That's the fastener for the headlight assembly.
| Hood with air duct for EFI injection. Needed if you're using an Escort 1.8 engine with it's intake manifold that sits quite high. Even if I wasn't going with that engine, I still kinda like the way that looks.
| Chassis set down in the garage.
